SymbioTest On-Demand & Enterprise Detailed Features List
Web-Based architecture
SymbioTest is an integral Web-Based testing environment that emulates,
in a most intuitive and user-friendly way, the real-life approach to software testing.
Benefiting from our Web-based architecture, users do not need to install software to
access project requirements, test cases, test plans or a test results repository.
All you need is a browser and an Internet connection to bring SymbioTest online.
No programming knowledge required
With the power of SymbioTest framework, SymbioWare brings its customers to the next
level of creating automated test cases by providing a unique interface that allows writing highly advanced
test cases by using only plain English. In just a few minutes, a business analyst can create a test case
that only a very skilled automated QA engineer would be able to write using conventional automated testing
software. Moreover, it would take the QA engineer more than twice as long to achieve the same result!
Automation Tool Independent
The SymbioTest framework includes the SymbioTest Agent. By using the SymbioTest Agent there
is no need for 3rd party testing tool, and can be optionally installed by the user, if required. It is a small application that sits
in the system tray that will execute test cases on a local or remote test machine. The SymbioTest Agent manages
all the communication from the machine under test to/from SymbioTest server.
Development and automated testing in parallel
Testers can write automated test cases while developers are writing their code, working
in parallel. Test cases are built directly from requirements, in parallel with code development. Our Application Model
Editor helps users to manually create an Application Model for a particular project as early as the first requirements
drawing. Having built a backbone for their test case format, users are not constrained with creating test cases for
the defined requirements until they exist.
Quick transition to automated test cases
When a company decides to move from manual to automated testing, SymbioTest provides flawless mapping between
the object that created based on requirements definition and object in the developed application. This transition does not
change the character and the structure of the created test cases. By using this method, SymbioTest can set up the entire body
of the available test cases for its automation execution.
Flexible automated
test execution
SymbioTest provides our users with great flexibility by allowing them to schedule their test case execution
at any time to any available SymbioTest Agent host on the network. The run scheduler process allows test cases to be run and
viewed in real-time. This means that a team member can see how the test case is running on the SymbioTest Agent host in real-time,
no matter where the host is located.
Use of test reports
for analysis
Users can utilize customizable reports that can provide instant visibility into the
testing effort. Reports trace the path from test requirements to test results, allowing managers
to see how many requirements have passed, failed, or not been tested, instantly.
Empowers Users to
store and read documentation online
Integrating with WebDAV technology as a Web Server Document Repository, SymbioTest empowers
a user to store and read documentation online.
Use of existing
workforce
SymbioTest effectively closes the gap between routine manual testing and the sought
after virtue of automation. Our product assists a team, who are proficient in manual testing, with a
robust library of test procedures presented in a graphical user interface. A tester can easily mix
and match the testing objects with their test procedures using a familiar application's front end
with menus, radio buttons and edit boxes.
Quick update for the
version test cases
SymbioTest is designed to ensure the continuity of the entire testing progress between
versions of the target software. Our customers are relieved from the tedious and unproductive routine of
rewriting all the present test cases for the version. SymbioTest has a 'notification' feature for every test
case in the test case library, which makes sure that all test cases are up-to-date. As soon as a test case has
become obsolete for a version under testing, it is automatically flagged as 'invalid'. This error-proof design
safely guards a user from scheduling the outdated test cases for automated execution.
